I have a M6800. The lift lever only works on the last (upper) inch. This only allows about 5" of clearance on my Bushog when in the highest position. This position used to be about 1/3 up from the bottom. If I don't have an impliment on, the arms will go nearly to the ground. I have checked the hydraulic fluid and it is full when checked cold and not operating. There are no adjustments in the external linkage. I did recently have a problem with this lever being practically frozen up. I decreased the spring pressure and sprayed penetrant on it where it goes into the case. It took a few days but works very freely now. There is no indication that the lever has been bent. It has about 750 hours on it. I am not the only user.

I don't know anything about a M series tractor. But for some reason I was thinking about this question when I was putting my backhoe on this afternoon.

My lift arms attach on a splined shaft...seems like if I had a good range of travel, but that they did not lift enough, I could loosen them, remove them, and put them on rotated in a slightly different position, so that when it was all over, the arms would not lower as much, but would lift higher...

I don't know if the M series tractors are the same as my b2910 or not. Food for thought, perhaps...

Bill, I would think you've described the problem and solution, but I haven't really looked at the lift arms on that model either.

No direct experience about this but - sounds like the adj. arm has slipped on the valve shaft coming out of the trans case.
