3PH Trash Can Holder

Anyone built something to haul the trash? I have 1/4 mile to take our can down to our dumpster by the main road.

A 3pt carry all would serve you and could be used for other jobs. If you don't want to invest $129, build one with scrap or new metal. Deck it with the material of choice.

If you have cans with a crossbar, a version of this would work, but simpler with a 3tp hitch.

Hi Free Wookie,

We flip our rollover box blade, and put the cans on the blade (it cups upwards like a shallow C) or put the in the bucket, or sometimes on a pallet, depending ofn if the forks are on it or not.

If I had a long drive, I would build a cart as a permanent home for the cans. Park it where you would the cans then just hook up and pull to street. If you have a good garbage man he may even put them back on the cart for you. This way you can use anything to pull it. If you got a box blade on the tractor, you don't have to remove it. If your truck is parked in front of the tractor... use the truck, or you could pull it by hand if need be.

Only thing you would have to worry about would be theft I suppose.

Just throw it in the bucket and pull up and dump it in:laughing:

I would build a pallet to hold the can/s and use pallet forks to haul it.

Another option would be to get a small trailer and pull behind the tractor.

My driveway isn't long enough to justify getting the tractor out, but a few times I've been going by on some other errand and have picked up the trash can(s). I find that if the bucket is fully curled, the trash can sits in it just fine, and as long as I don't go too crazy with the driving, it stays there until the top of the drive.

I'm thinking now maybe bungee the can into the bucket. If I can bungee it where it stays in I can drive right up to my dumpster and dump it.

i have one of the trash bins with wheels like the link above. I just hold on the handle through the window of my truck or behind the 4 wheeler and drive but I have less than 200 yards to go.

I have a 3pt carry all that I bolted some large U-bolts upside down on the top of. They are big enough that I can tilt my bucket forward and they fit over the top edge of my bucket then I lift it up and haul it to the end of the drive and sit it down the same way. Next day I go back and get it, never having to get off the tractor. I just leave my cans on the carry-all unless I need it for something else. Works great.. Sorry no pics of it right now.

Our trash bins are about the size of a 45 gal drum and have 12" wheels. The handles are above the wheel side.
My solution is a short length of chain between the 2 handles which I simply drape over my trailer hitch.
I drive slowly up the hill to the curb and unhitch the chain.
Since we have raccoons my lids are kept closed with a bungee cord so spills never occur, naturally due to a bumpy driveway, SLOW is a requirement.
