3910 Power Steering Fluid Help

I have a new to me 3910 and the power steering reservoir appears to be low. The manual I have says use Ford M-41 fluid. Any idea if M-41 is available or what substitute I should use??

Mine has a slow leak. I go to Oreilley's and buy power steering fluid.

I don't think the tractor cares. Might be noticeable during cold temps.

Use the same hydraulic oil you use in the transmission and rear axle/hydraulics. Needs to meet NH 134 specification.

I had thought about that but read that power steering fluid for cars destroys the seals, not sure how true that is...

I can't seem to find any info on these old Ford fluids anywhere...

It is obsolete and replaced by 134.

Somewhere in one of my 3910 manuals it says to use the same fluid you use elsewhere in the tractor. That smells of 134 ABC but I put 134D in my main sumps when changing so I put it in there too.....better oil than ABC. I had the D (J20C is the popular posted spec for that oil) because I have wet brakes and had it on hand for my Bransons.

I smell a rat, old wives tale, somebody with their head buried, mouth running and brain in neutral, blabbing to hear them selves blabbing, ..........where's their reference to such?

Automotive power steering fluid is thinner than the spec fluid and MAY leak easier and sooner. It pretty much begins and ends there. Some owners use it without any issues.
