Hello fellow posters:

I have been considering trading back in my almost new 4310 for a new 3720 since I heard they were being released. I just spoke with my dealer and he quoted me a price to trade of $6000-6500 plus tax. Although I know we are all new to these machines and their pricing, I wanted opinions about this deal. I currently have the 300cx loader and attachments, so I will only need the tractor. The price includes changing over the loader, and I believe the dealer will load the tires as part of the sale (he has been kind to do this before --even on a tractor I did not buy). My 4310 is in like-new condition and currently has 36.5 hours on it. It is Ehydro and has the third (rear) SCV added and loaded tires. I really like my 4310, but I would like to have a bit more engine power. My dealer is also a friend, and I feel he is doing his best for me. My big question is whether this sounds in line percentage wise with what we would expect, given the newness of the model. Also, while I know the "how much is it worth to you?" thought is in effect, I wonder whether on paper the new tractor is enough more powerful to merit the price difference. Just looking for some opinions.

As long as we're talking YOUR money, I think you should get the new tractor.

As you can see the 3720 isn't just a new model, it's an advanced new model.
And you're going to make somebody happy buying that slightly used, not even broke in 4310 for cheaper than new.
It all comes back to

For me personally with the $6k-7k difference the 4310 would work just fine.

I know from your previous posts you would like to have more power when your driving with a full load. I think if I were you I would find a dealer with a 3720 with a 300cx loader attached. Then find a heavy load to pick up and do a lot of test driving. That seems like a lot of money to not be sure if there is a big difference in power.

Good luck and keep us posted!
