3720 Feels Tippy

/ 3720 Feels Tippy #41
Dave,

I agree with you 100%. I would say, though, that with appropriate ballasting, the 3000 series will come close to the 4000 series in stability on most terrain. My biggest concern with my 4520 was hauling it. I know not everyone has this problem, but it is a load. Compared to the 4520, the 3720 I traded it for is much easier to haul. The other thing is that the 3000 series can be made a lot more stable by inverting the wheels. My neighbor just bought a 3320 PRT with R1's that he runs on the widest setting. It is pretty stable. More so than my machine for sure. Unfortunately, if one does this, he/she cuts into the advantage of the smaller size. Tractor for tractor, I would personally have a large frame if I were working in open spaces and/or did not have to haul much around, but for me a 3000 is a better fit, and there are things that can be done to make them more stable. Our original poster might be happier with the 4000 series, though. It seems he really likes them and the stability question might be a secondary issue.
