3660 weak on one side drive

I am going to go look at a 3660 ztr. Ad says 1 side drive is weak. Anything to look at or is this usually a R&R of the entire side drive/ pump assy? Is there a place to get salvage parts that cross to other brands? New the assy looks to be $1350.
