3520 losing curl pressure on FEL

The hydraulic cylinders seem to be losing pressure on the curl function of my front end loader on 3520. Why does this happen?

Does it do this with & without a loader in the bucket? Does your FEL have a regen valve?

Both of my curl actuators failed within 6 months of new on my 2010 3520.
Dealer advised this was normal, I explained that if I didn't hold full Px when bucket was loaded, it would dump the load by the time I hit the other side of the farm. I demanded that both cylinders be repaired or replaced. If you are out of the lengthy one year warranty , the cylinders are very easy to re-seal. Kits from jd in canada are expensive, you will find them cheaper else where I am sure.

A quick check is to remove the bucket, roll actuators full forward to dump position at idle, remove one tie bar bolt ( either side) have an assistant VERY SLOWLY, move the controls to curl position, at the same time, have a bar in the mount that attaches to bucket . If your actuator is bypassing, you will be able to hold the bucket mount with the bar. Be VERY CARFUL, as pressure rises the actuator will eventually retract, so keep your head out of the way of the bar. If you try this with the tie bar connected, a good cylinder will drive a bad cylinder and conceal the bad cylinder.
If you find one bad cylinder and don't repair it before working with a loaded bucket, you may have further problems down the road, like I did with my cracked loader arm .

If your talking about the cylinders not holding, you need the them replaced. Mine were junk from day 1. They first tried resealing them but ultimately wound up replacing them both under warranty. The bores must have been out of round. Anyway, heres a thread I started when I had the issue. Maybe this helps you out if its the same issue. The easiest way to see if its your cylinders bleeding out is to get the bucket level and raise it up a bit. Then disconnect the lines from the tractor.

Test them using the relief valve. If it will relieve, that means that both cyl is building up pressure.

Remove both cyl ends from the bucket.

Cap hoses from one cyl.

Retract the cyl still connected and remove the base end hose and make it retract some more.

If fluid still flows from the base end of the cyl, the cyl is bypassing and you need new seals or new cyl.

Test the other cyl.

What is the relief valve?

The relief valve protects hyd system from pressure overloads. It should be set at a specified pressure. Relief valve opens when system psi is exceeded.

Where is it on the tractor?

It's probably located in loader control valve. What is your FEL model #?
