3520 fuel guage

The fuel gauge in my JD 3520 compact tractor had quit. It only show full at all times. I think that it is either a wire to or from the sending unit or the spending unit itself. The gauge goes to empty when I turn off the key and goes to full when I turn it on. Anyone else having this problem? I can't the sending unit do I guess I have to drop the fuel tank to get to it. I am waiting on my tech manual CD to arrive....Chip

Sorry for the fat thumb typos.

Tech manual came. No info provided for removal and replace fuel sensor or the steps for fuel tank removal. It just says replace it if it fails the tests.

Call your local dealer and ask them for the instructions on how to do this - there is probably a procedure that comes with the replacement part.

i am pretty sure you take the cowling off around the steering column and its on top of the tank....there are two bolts under the fuel filler lid you take out and its pretty simple from there on....

Mine is a cab tractor with the tank over the left wheel and under the fender. I got it worked out and the old sensor is out. New one will be here Tuesday direct ship to the house.
