My right rear axle oil seal leaking. Any suggestions on the best way to remove the shaft. Repair man is not much help.
 
You have to remove the axil housing first. When you remove it, it looks like you are removing the whole side of the rear housing, and there are probably 15 to 20 bolts holding it on. I hope this makes some sense.

My drawing refers to a nut on the end of the shaft,but it looks more like a bevel gear. so would it be safe to assume that removing the outer case would allow the shaft to come out of the main housing. thanks
