I bought my branson 3510 tractor from an individual. I have put 60 hours on it. It now has 372 hours. I thought it would be wise to change the fluid.
I purchased a wix hydro filter 51202. Bought 10 gallons of ultra premium UTF Has listings for Case, New Holland, Cat, Kubota, etc.
After the change I used it and everything felt normal.
I have only used the tractor to blade the roads of snow.
When I start the tractor the pump sound loud. No power steering, loader operates slow, 3 pt slow. It's like there is air in the system.
Takes awhile running and it's normal.
Next snow hits and it's back to same slow hydro's
I have done this twice.
Did I purchase the wrong hydro filter?
It' is cold, but I have bladed snow before with no issues.

If this is like my 2400H the filter for the hydraulics is an inlet filter or suction filter. If you purchased a filter with a finer filtration or higher pressure drop Vs flow it will cause the pump to cavitate.

There are other posts with problems with non OEM hydraulic filters. You might try a search.
Was the old filter a Branson?
Did you clean the screen?

The old filter was a Branson brand. I brought the tractor into the shop and put the old filter on. It instantly worked. Surly other brand filters can cross reference. I have used Wix filter on my applications from the big high lifts to the lawn mower.

Do a forum search. I seem to recall some past posts with filters that cross/work.

That being said - Is a dealer close by? The factory filters are pretty reasonable, and even if more $, you only change it every 200-300 hours...

m.Lowes,
Since I believe this is a pump inlet filter a minor change in micron rating or flow capabilities can have a drastic effect on the pump performance especially in colder weather. Yes Wix makes a quality product but if it is not a functional interchange you will have the problems you are seeing.

If this was a return line filter I doubt you would have seen any difference in the operation of your tractor.

I have not found any filter manufacturers than show a cross over for Branson hydraulic filters.
