Sparks were small and were out a couple inches from the exhaust - like carbon. The smoke I agree looks like oil but smells like diesel. We had a bunch of rain and wind yesterday so I didn't get out to play with it.

Out of curiosity, is the inside of the exhaust tip wet or dry?

Good afternoon

Inside of the exhaust is wet.

Cracked the lines to the injectors -

rear almost killed the engine.
Middle no change - fuel coming out of the line
Front - dropped RPMs

Changed the o-rings in the FEL quick disconect and stopped the leak there. FEL is very slow, transmission dipstick shows level is where it is suppose to be. There is a switch under the seat that controls the rate of drop on the 3 point with a fill plug next to it - should there be hydraulic fluid in that valve?

Pulled the injectors this afternoon, was pretty painless. used the information on the forum but turned a spacer down on the lathe instead of using a socket.

Middle injector was pretty black and coated with carbon. The rear was pretty clan and the front had some carbon build up. Will take them in to either rebuild or buy new.

Happy New Year.

Hoye sells a real slick and economical compression gage for Yanmar diesels I have one it works nice.

Just a heads up if you are calling them for parts now is the time to check the compression while you are at it and know what the next move is or isnt.
