This morning I went to Home Depot to pick up a skid of floor tile. There were 40 boxes of tile, plastic wrapped and tie wrapped on the skid. According to the electronic scale on the lift total weight was 2,050 lbs. This was substantially more than originally estimated. They set the load directly over the axles - Sierra 1500 4x4. the drive home was not far and the road smooth and appears no damage done to the springs.

Tractor is 3320 / 300 CX with Horst 48" fixed forks (330 Lbs??) The skid / load measured 42" x 29" x 29" with the long side parallel to the forks. A combination of lift & curl brought the load maybe 1/2" off the truck bed before the pressure relief cut in. Didn't measure actual lift height, but unloaded tailgate height is 34" I don't think this would have worked with a Dodge since they tend to sit higher.

Closest comparable listed capacity for the 300cx is 2,030 lbs at the pins to max height 59" or 1,572 lbs @ 19.7" forward to max height of 59"

The weight of the forks would seem to be mostly close to the pins, whereas the skid / tiles would be about the same as 2,050 lbs equivalent to 21" forward. Ballast for the lift was 447 BH. Once off the truck the load was carried about 3" off the ground - flat - total distance about 75'

This is posted mainly for the benefit of posters who from time to time ask regarding FEL lift capacity and I thought a real life example might be of interest.

Nuru thanks for that link. I knew about the shim kit for the 790 and my son actually did that mod, but missed the posts re the 3x20 series.

That skid of tiles was the heaviest thing I've tried to lift so far and I was actually pleasantly surprised when it actually did the job.

I've had the same results with my 300x loader. I've actually found the the higher the truck bed the better the results. I lifted a 2100lbs pallet of retaining wall blocks out of the back of my superduty last year. I didn't think there was a chance of lifting it but figured I try it. Same results lifted it just about 1/2" and I was able to safely lower it and then drive to the wall. It's just depends on the geometry of the lift. I was unable to lift the pallet more than 3" off the ground after I put it down. I'm using the same Horst forks by the way.

Just had exactly the same experience. I decided to move the tiles to a different location and about 3" off the ground was max lift. Anyway, that was sufficient to do the job.

I plan on testing the loader capacity again tommorrow. I'm getting a 1260lbs pallet of pelletized lime. I'm not expecting any issue maybe I'll snap a few pics if I remember.

Please do on the pics.

As promised, I figure the total weight is around 1280. I had no issues lifting the pallet and was able to lift it to full height. This is why I have such a hard time justifying a 110. This 3320 never lets me down and always gets the job done.

Matt;)

76 bags of mulch (full pallet) from HD and I can't budge it out of the back of the truck :( I must be underestimating the weight of the mulch per bag. Oh well dump some off the top and try again....

If the mulch was only 25# per bag, that would be 1900 #'s. What is your lift capacity/limit?

Not sure what these bales weigh, but i know my ol mans 4000 series Kubota wont lift them . . . . it always makes me chuckle :)

The hay Bales are almost as big as the tractor.....

Great White, did you lift that load without ballast?

During use of a rental 3320 w/ 300x loader, I questioned it's capability. The machine we rented took all it could muster to lift a 72" pulverizer (approx. 1200lbs.) over the bed side of a standard/stock 91 Silverado long bed 4WD truck. Judging by the results some of you are having, I believe the rental 3320 was in need of repair and/or adjustment.

I started a thread a while back about how to increase the capacity of the FEL on the 3x20 series tractors, the replies I got were for the hydro cab models, I was looking for open station Power reverser mods. I have not had any problems with anything yet, but I won't be able to put mine to the real test until later this year when I buy my pallets of wood pellets for winter. I was told by my dealer that the 3x20's with 300CX Loader would be able to lift (with proper ballast of course) the 2000lb pallet of pellets high enough to move the pallets around; I don't need to stack them, just be able to lift them 6" to 12" off the ground to move them around without breaking the pallets down. Has anyone been able to lift anything around this weight with the 3x20 & 300CX combination? Also, I'm still interested to find out if there is an easy increase (such as the shims for the 790's which was a great help) for this series tractor & loader with the Power reverser & open station, pics would be great too!

Whoops! Should have read the older posts first, it looks like the weight is obtainable, so now I guess I'm just curious about increasing the capacity.

Negative, I had my ballast box on when I lifted the pallet. The pic with the trailer hitch on was awhile later. I've lifted over 2k with my 300x.

Does anyone know if the method for increasing capacity is the same for the OS Power reverser tractors and the Hydro Cab tractors?
