Is your yard really rough...like will it need to be filled with some dirt, or is it pretty smooth already, just needing reseeding? If it is already smoothed out...you should be able to just use a broadcast seeder. Put down what you think you need for seed then use your tractor with a small drag and drag it in, the water it twice daily. Should be enough. Note...if there are alot of weeds...this might be the time to address that situation before reseeding.
There are several companies who make a small drag which can be pulled behind a lawn tractor. I just use a single drag section which was left over from some dismantled farm equipment.
