3184 (3000 series) Transaxle problems

I've got a 3184 it's about 4 years old now....the hydro trans pump has been replaced 3 times - the first and last a complete unit, the second time just the charge pump replacement. Cub has stepped up to the line for the repairs and I can't argue with that, my question is: Has any one else had issue with the 3000 hydro trans.

I know 2 fellows with 3000 series Cubs', each being about 3-4 yrs. old (200-300 hrs.). Neither has experienced any hydro pump problems - an electrical problem on one (replaced solenoid) and both machines had spindles on the mowing deck requiring modification to be able to grease them - factory screw-up. No problems regarding the hydro unit though.

Can I ask the type of work you use the 3184 for? 3 times is excessive

I have a 3204 that is 1 years old, and I have about 90 hours and climbing fast. I use it to mow, move a heavy enclosed trailer (6 x 12), spread seed (rotary tow behind) and snow throw (blower) in winter. I have no complaints, and things are holding up well. Not to say problems will not surface in the future, but it seems like an easy fix for most things and parts are inexpensive IMO....

I use it mowing and plowing...In about 4 years I've only put 130 hours on it, so it's not used an excessive amount. I've also had No other problems with this tractor. In all cases the pump when out just after starting (within 2 minutes...) Glad to hear that no one else has had any problem...hopefully I wont again.
