318 john deere

just rebuilt a b 48 onan engine in the john deere but it wont run at all unless choke is closed off. ive tried replace filters lines surge pump everything but nothing seems to work. im going to recheck valve clearance any other ideas

sounds like you have a plugged jet or the wrong jetting in the carb. did you rebuild the carb and replace the jets including pilot jet(used at idle)?

Check to make sure your fuel pump is pumping. Check the crankcase vacuum to make sure your pulling enough vacuum to run the pump.
