Hello All! Itç—´ a long time sense I been here on line, life on the road working all over.

My next door neighbor has a 1972 310-B John Deere, The steering housing cracked so the hyd fluid leaks out, and he is trying to locate with no luck a replacement. He had 2 shipped in but it turned out to be the wrong part. i was hoping someone in here with such a large network would know where to locate one.

The part number is T-82325

Thank you all in advance for your help!
Itç—´ very much appreciated

T82325 isn't a valid part number. This is the steering valve for a 310B AT176926 Flow Control Hyd. Valve ADD 1,457.17 USD

Hi Jim,

This is the info they gave me, he told me they had 2 shipped up but they were different, I will diffidently pass this info on to them. This is probably the reason why they were different.
Thank you for this important info.

Since I think JD outsources the steering valve I think the housing will not have a JD casting number.

Jim,

Is there a difference in this part between Canada and the US, that you know of.
I'm trying to figure out how they got it mixed up twice, not once twice.
scratching my head.
Thanks again Jim for you help.

JD lists only one parts catalog & only one PS valve for a 310 B. Are you sure the machine is a 310 B?

Jim correct me if I am wrong, A few weeks back we had a JD 410 backhoe in our shop front tag on frame said 410-B yet it was straight 410. I believe it was in the parts manual that I read the B stands for diesel engine? sent the manual with the tractor when customer picked it up so I can't check. Would they have been building the B series in 72?

Jim,

I located a part for the tractor, I used the part number (Sub AT101661) I got from John Deere. that was the only number showing for that part, I don't know what the "Sub" stands for.

Thanks for the info Goaliedavid, I will verify, I'll need to look for the info on the machine, make sure it is what they say.

I'm fairly confident JD built a model 410 B as that model is listed in JDparts.com. My knowledge of JD industrial models is very limited as I was employed back in day by an AG only dealership.

I'm glad ya'll found the needed part Sub stands for substitute. This is what the current JD 310 B parts catalog on JDparts.com lists for steering valve.
AT176926 FLOW CONTROL HYD. VALVE 1 X X (SUB FOR AT42134, AT61099, AT74315, AT79269 AND AT101661)

Jim,

Apperintly the parts for the 310-B that you showed me does not match, but the parts for the 310 does lol. 20140424_195859[1].jpg these are the parts that match.

The housing(parts key #8 PN AT23175) doesn't fit a 310A,310B,310C or 310D. It fit's the older models such as 301 & 401's

Jim I did not mean to imply that JD did not build a model 310b only that the serial # tag on the early 310 and 410 machines was a little confusing and that the B may have been just a prefix that stood for something other than model #. which is what we found to be true. I have never worked for a JD dealership Ag or otherwise so what could I know.

My knowledge of JD industrial equipment is limited but I think the A,B,C,etc designated different models not options. I've seen units labeled wrong especially when repainted. Several years back a local tractor jockey painted nearly everyone of the ind tractors he bought GREEN with ag tractor decals which was very confusing come repair time.
