3054 starter

I took my bad starter to the local starter repair shop. Bad news, he said he can't fix it because he can't get parts for it. He's done many repairs for me and is good but I would just like a second opinion on it and/or how much a new one is?

Rich, if memory serves me correct, a new starter will run between $400 and $500. I replaced mine two years ago (also for an LK3054) and paid only $158 for the starter and a whopping $56 for a rush delivery charge. I bought it through my NAPA dealer part number WIL 91-29-5213. Worked (and still works) like a charm and I lost little of my precious time. Good luck.

I stopped at napa and they didn't have a listing for it. They did have the part # you mentioned though. I just wasn't sure if it would fit mine. I called Jon at Depratt equipment, and once again, he hooked me right up. Price was about the same and it's on the way. Thanks for the info kentrodngun and thanks again Jon.

Rich, glad to hear your good news. When my starter went, I brought the actual starter to NAPA and if my memory is correct, they were able to cross reference the Daedong number off it and provide me with the appropriate replacement.

I guess that would have fit then. That's another option for next time. Like you said, it would've had to be shipped from I think it was michigan plus the price is a bit more now( no big surprise there). So in the end it was pretty even. Jon has been great to me so I'm glad I was able to give him the business.
