3040 start problem

Factory switch; had the tractor from new. Clockwise to start, 2 positions anti clockwise for heat then start.

I'm not familiar with that style start switch. I see it in the parts lists, some of which look to be similar to many 50 and 55 series instrument panels.

Thanks for coming back and reporting on the solution. All too often people solve their problems then disappear.
