3016 Won"t start.

Went out today to do a little work and tried to start the tractor. Nothing. No power, no lights, nothing.

I checked the battery and found a huge amount of corrosion on the positive battery terminal. when I touched it, the connector on the wiring simply fell off.

The positive terminal connector is made of "maybe" 18 gauge copper strip. It has corroded completely apart. There is almost nothing left. this unit is only one year old.

I will replace it but thought I'd give any other Mahindra owners a heads up to watch out for the same issue.

My 3316 has the same light weight strap on the + cable. once every couple of months I check it, if needed I clean it with a wire brush, water and baking soda, then coat it with a little petroleum jelly. Wear eye protection when wire brushing, in case corosive flies back. Jim

Had the same thing happen to my neg battery cable end. Just split. Replaced the whole cable with one that had a more substantial end from Autozone. This happened after about 4 years. I keep cleaning and checking the pos end. Still holding up.
