Update: My neighbor was a machine repairman at GM and we were discussing the problem. I was telling him that 2 dealers told me to put the bucket under something it could not lift, and at full rpm hold the lever over to lidt for 10 minutes. Whatever cyl gets hot is the one leaking by.

Thinking there had to be a better way, I was discussing it and telling him it seemed to hard on the equipment. My neighbor told me to raise the cyl all the way in, then remove the line at the top of the cyl. once removed, I would try to compress the cyl more. If the cyl is leaking, fluid should come out, if it is not leaking, nothing would come out.

When we pulled the top line off, we fgot a little fluid out, he held the line away from us, and I pulled the lever over at 1400 rpms. The first one did not leak. The second one had a good solid line of fluid leaking.

I now know that I have an issue with the right cyl.

I thought I would share this as it was so easy that we checked the rest of the cyl on the tractor. I have no clue why me dealer would not tell me this, or tell me that they test them this way. Anyone who thinks they have this issue should try it. If needed, I could take a movie and do it again. Very Simple!

I would like to see a movie of that. It sounds like a pretty easy way to check. I do know that the springs on the 300CX towers will let the loader bounce relative to the hood as an earlier posters noted.

I have detailed that method quite a few times here on TBN...Sorry I didn't for you:eek:

That is a crazy method! you could do a lot of damage to your machine holding the hydraulic against the relief for 10 minutes!

Sounds like those two dealers have a problem diagnosing problems!!
YIKES.

Also, don't feel bad because there is a cylinder issue here..... I had a new planter show up a year ago, and after 8 hours in field was just POURING hydraulic fluid out of a lift cylinder, and one next to it bleeding. Somebody or something dinged one of the packing rings (I think is what they call it) when putting them in cylinder and "it is what it is". Nothing to be upset over. I didn't let them rebuild them though, I made them put on brand new. Rebuilding can be a trick on the new cylinders, esp. in field, in a hurry by a young mechanic... now I'm talking BIG on a planter, not a little loader.... have no clue on our loaders how precise and intricate they are. This was first problem I ever had with Deere on cylinders and I've bought a LOT of Deere cylinders!!

I'd like to see that as well. You removed the line from the cylinder itself or the quick disconnects? Did you check the loader arm cylinders too?

I agree, that would be a good movie to see. That procedure is one a lot of us with the 3x20 series should know how to perform.
