I was TSC today looking at a gadget that hooks to the 3 tp hitch and you can lift and spot trailers with it. It has a receiver and also a ball mounted on top. It looks something like a middle buster w/o the "buster" on the bottom with the 2" receiver incorporated on it. This got me thinking with very little modification I believe I can transform my middle buster into the trailer lift doodad. I will let ya'll know how it works out. Better yet, if anyone has a better idea I'm all eyes.

Here is a hitch I built. It started out as a receiver hitch from a pickup.

I made my own also out scrap metal I had laying around. Used 1 1/2" square tubing to keep weight down. I looked at the tractor supply models and did not want to spend that much money, and was also concerned that it would not fit my quick hitch.

I love mine, and even use it for putting my bass boat in the local lake, it only has a grass ramp, and I dont have to worry about getting the truck stuck.

Here is another option. It keeps you from hurting your neck!

Tisco makes an a-frame kit that bolts to a standard cat-1 11-hole drawbar.. it has a connection point for the toplink, then yo hookup both lower arms.

add your trailer ball and go.

kit sold for 20$ BACK IN 04' I got mine from the local CNH dealer. but you can likely order them from any tisco parts dealer..

Making one of these was my first welding project, while it is not as pretty as some (ok all) that others have made it was fun and it is functional. I learned a lot while making it and will clean some of the welds up as time goes by.

Kayco has the idea right. All he has to do now is add a carry box to the front (tractor) side of it, a slab of concrete (counter weight) to the bottom and a couple of hooks on the side/rear to carry some chain/wrenches/etc.
If the box is the right size he can put a battery in it, replace the ball with a winch and use it to haul his logs out.....
One of the most versatile things you can stick on a 3pth

Kayco - I'm trying to figure out what the orange frame is that is mounted on your drawbar in the picture. Is it for hooking up chains for a trailer on the ball?
