Spreader 3 pt spreaders

anybody know how good the herd spreaders are.I am looking at the m96, spoke to a dealer today was told they were one of the most accurate spreaders on the market . also eurospan thinking about them also , anybody use these brands before, thanks kully

I haven't used the Herd, but know others who have and they say they are one of the best on the market. They get used on a regular basis by these guys and have held up for many years. Of course, they take good care and never fail to clean them after each use. John

I have used the herd m96 spreading grass seed. It works very well and is accurate. Keep the machine clean after use and it will serve you a very long time

I have an old M96 Herd spreader but haven't used it yet. Found it out in the weather on my uncles place when I was cleaning up some brush. When I brought it to the shop I sprayed penetrating oil on all the gears, etc and the plate in the hopper and left it. Meanwhile I located the Herd Web Site and discovered that they are still made and parts available. In about a week of tinkering the old spreader cleaned up and seems to work OK without replacing anything. It's stored on blocks under a shed now.

Kully, I have a Eurospan I use for spreading sand on the driveway. I haven't used a Herd, but I priced them a year of so ago when I was looking for a sand spreader. The Herd I looked into was much nicer ( and way more expensive) than the Eurospan. Herd seemed to have a wider selection of spreaders. For speading sand, the Eurospan has worked fine for me. I don't know that I would use it for applications that required real accuracy, but for driveway sand it is fine.
