I have wanted a 3 pt Log Grapple for some time, I finally got around to building one. The main frame is 5/16" and the arms are 1/4" with a 3"x8" ram, I also powder coated it, just because. I have only "played with it in the yard, will be taking it out to the firewood lot for a real test. "MCE is my company name"

How big a diameter log can that thing grab?

Cool. That is a nice looking attachment. Do you mind sharing how much $ you have into it?

In most of Alaska, isn't anything over 4 inches diameter considered huge timber?

:)

Here we have some fairly large spruce and birch, nothing like SE AK but some in the 24-30 inch range

AK pilot I live over By Big Lake was wondering if you still have your soil screener. Going to build one this winter and would like to take a look at yours if possible.

Very impressive AK. please give us a report after you have given it a good workout. I'm wondering 2 things, what is the measurement from the cyl pin to the "hinge" pin, and does that provide enough leverage or squeeze to hold a full "bite" of multiple stems? And while you're at it, do you like the dangling chain mount v/s a more ridgid 2 axis conventional mount?
Thanks for posting, and I'm probably going to "steal" you design (if I may)
PS, does Sara Palin live in you're town and does she look as good in prerson?

The Hinge pins are 7/8" cylinder pins are 1". The chains are "cheap & easy" and seem to work real well there short enough to only allow just over 180 degree rotation yet they rotate very easily for the first 90 degrees.
PS Sarah and Tod live South of me by about 60 miles. I knew her in high school she has Always looked good!
