We are in the process of getting a 5020 and have a 3 pt Farmtrac backhoe that we want to keep and put on the LS. The Farmtrac had brackets that bolted to the rear section of the trac on each side of the yoke. A bolt then ran through brackets and the yoke presumably to strengthen the connection point. Does the LS backhoes use brackets like these or can I just go to the yoke. The dealer also said we would need another set of remotes installed to run the Backhoe, but I thought the 5020s already came with 2 sets of remotes.
Trying to figure everything out before the purchase. He is a newer dealer for LS, but I have dealt with him for quite a few years now.

Clint...not sure about the brackets...I can tell you at least my R4041 has dual rear remotes. I think you can go to the website and get the specs for that 5020 to determine if your package has the dual rears already installed. Good luck and enjoy.

The standard remotes that come with the tractor would not work, they are for controling a hydraulic cylander (or several) in and out the factory lever you would move forward to move a cylander one way and then backwords to move the cylander the other way. What you need for the backhoe attachment is a hydraulic flow where you have the two ports and when connected the oil would circulate out one port and return through the other, the backhoe would tap into that circulating oil (pressure) and control its own cylanders with its own hydraulic valves. The control valve on the tractor would be either on or off. I hope that helps, I know how it works but I don't think I explained it correctly, so that it made sence.

You explained it well enough for me. Makes perfect sense now.

I think that you can replace the standard valves on the tractor with valves that offer a "detent" --- if you operate the valve in the detent position, that would offer continuous flow that you need to your backhoe. I could be wrong but ---- I think LS offers that valve as an option????

My dealer is working on the valve thing. What he is not sure about is the backhoe brackets as he has never sold one. Guess we will wait and see.
