3-Point Hitch 3 point on Ford 6640 stuck in up position

My 3 point hitch on my Ford 6640 is stuck in the up position. I am not sure how to release the pressure and get it down.

Is the draft control lever in the up position? Put it in the down position and try it.

Check all your linkage make sure nothing has loosened up or fallen off. Hopefully you will find something on the outside. Our problem with our 6640 was it wouldn't raise and we finally found bent/broken linkage internally caused by a worn bolt head. Here is the link to the thread on our 6640 3pt problem
