Can a tractor mounted log splitter be hooked up to the front loader hydraulics? I have a TC31 New Holland. Jerry

Welcome to TBN:D

Yes, you can hook it to your FEL outlets, you will just have to use a bungee cord to hold the joystick in a position that energizes the ports you hook the splitter into.

Do a search for "logsplitter" for hours of reading on the subject-and the controversy of 3PH mount splitters.

If you use the FEL ports, I'd be sure to stay away from the curl circuit. I'd put it in the lift cylinder circuit and pull the joystick all the way back to bungee it. If you push forward, you can get into float and have no pressure. If you use the curl circuit and move the joystick to dump position, you can get into regenerative feedback and cause problems. I think the lift circuit will be the least problematic if you do it right.

Thanks Jim for the good advice about the FEL hydraulics. Now I think, that since the TC31 has only a 7.2 gpm pump that a pto driven pump might be better. Jermel
