I have a CK 20 and am buying a log splitter for it. The question I have is do I have to add a rear remote? Or can I simply use longer hyd. Lines and attach to the quick disconnects that go to my FEL?

I don't have the rear remotes. That's why I was wanting to use the already existing hydraulic connections at the FEL.

If you look at older threads, you will find many people use the loader connections. The catch is that you have to find a way to hold the valve open - not so hard if you have individual valve levers (bungee?), a bit harder if you have a "joystick" 4 way control. The additional rear remotes are very convenient if you can afford it.

Well you could, but it is a pain to have to hook and unhook it when you want to use your loader plus it your loader doesn't have a detent to keep oil flow to your splitter. I would suggest putting on an scv kit. They are a snap to put on and you can always use it for other implements.

Well I truly appreciate all the input. I believe I'll take all your advice and just go ahead and install the rear remote. I think I was expecting to hear that advice to begin with. Thank again to all!

All tractors should have at least one set of rear remotes. Should be a law.

Dj, is that what those schhhtoopid detents are for?

So if LB did use the FEl hook up with longer hoses a splitter would not work because the remote valve won't give it any fluid?

I use the bucket cylinder connections on my JD 790. The "power beyond" kit is NLA, I was quoted nearly $1500 to "piece" the kit! I just use a tarp strap to the opposite fender from the joy stick. Works fine for me! ~~ grnspot

KIOTI's remotes are MSRP for around $350 plus installation. We install them in about an hour of time. And yes all tractors need at least one remote.
