- John Deere 5100E
First post, first thread. Hopefully this is in the right forum, my apologies if not.
I have several Deere tractors from SCUTs to 5E series. Mostly used for snow removal, either sidewalks or snowblowing drives.
I have an older 4720 as well as a 5085E and 5100E that have Normand inverted snowblowers for doing driveways. Flat out the best way to driveways possible. But, I started having problems last year, first with the 5085 and now after 1 partial run the 5100 this year. We've been losing the 3 point ability to lift and hold the blowers up. On the 5085 we replaced the 3 point cylinder assembly the first time and then the rockshaft cracked. OR vice versa. The 3 point was sinking and then "jumping" back up and then finally failed completely. The 5100 was sinking\jumping and when we shut it off would fall to the ground within 5 seconds. I am pretty sure this is a result of riding up the roads with the blower hanging out the back and bouncing with no place for that energy to be dissipated except cylinders, seals, rockshaft, etc.
Which leads me to my question, I have been searching the interweb and can't find a nitrogen accumulator\ride control thing for 3 point hitches. Hoping someone here might have an idea or built one or something. I really wasn't planning on these major repairs this quick into ownership so I'm hoping to get some help.
Thanks
