2WD 855 - What size box blade?

I have a 2WD 855 that I want to purchase a box blade for. My tractor has some semi slick turf tires. Will I be able to pull a box blade at all or should I have AG tires for that? Should I go with a 4' or 5'?

The slicks with 2WD will get you no where with a box blade... unless you're just smoothing out some loose material. R1's would do you a little better, but the lack of 4WD will still hamper you ability to do much with a box blade. If you're going to get one, get the 4' with your setup. I can stop my 955 dead in it's tracks with a 5' box blade, R1s and 4WD.

Really will come down to what you're doing with it. I get stuck pulling my 60" job in 4wd, but that's because I have the scarfer teeth down and catch a root or rock.

Thanks for the reply's. I think I will get a 5' grader blade instead of a box. I've been able to stop it with a 30" dirt scoop but usually a little back and forth gets past the jam. I made a single blade root puller that is working good so if I want to work a rough area I can make several passes with that then come back with the blade.
