272 RFM Help

How do you remove the top shield on the mower? I took off the bolts but the guard around the PTO shaft if preventing me from taking the top panel off. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Any help much appreciated.

Can you remove your PTO shaft? Should be a push button or lock ring just like the tractor end of the shaft.

I have to unbolt it but it is possible. I thought there might be something I'm missing here but the cover does not want to clear to rest of the mower body. Should not be this hard. Then I still have to take off that safety cover going around the other end you know that half circle thing on the gearbox. That is really the problem. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Not familiar with the 272 myself.........can you post a pic of the problem area?

Sorry, I dont have a digital camera. I think I might have to remove the driveshaft but just wondering if anyone else ran into this same probem.
