2615 starting problem

Hey I am new here and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I put the front end loader under too much weight and it choked the tractor off. Went to restart it and hit the key switch twice by accident. Now it won't start at all and makes a grinding noise at the switch when turning it on to start it.. Any info is appriciated. Thanks

Question..did it try and turn over and restart the first time you hit the key?

Thanks for the quick reply. I did turn over the first time and before that rotation actually quick turning, I hit the switch again instead of waiting for it to completely stop turning. Now nothing except a grinding noise behind the switch.

You say grinding noise...could it be clicking sound? If so check your battery connections for corrosion or just tighten. The other might be battery has just gone south on you. Worse case you might have jammed the starter into the flywheel and now it's binding.....only way I know to fix this problem would be removing stater, or if a manual transmission try rocking the tractor while in gear...but this is only a guess on my part.

Thanks for letting me pick your brain. I was thinking the same thing about binding the starter. I did to the old tap tap to it. I am not hearing any noise at the starter though. But that doesn't mean a lot though. Might be the battery also. Thanks.....

I have started having trouble with the shuttle shifter neutral switch on my 2415. Seems to be the same problem with yours. The grinding you hear is the solenoid not engaging.

Something else to check and I'm guessing that your series of tractor also has two 50A fuses in the starter circuit like the 15 series. You might check to see if both are still good, not sure what symptom you would have if you blew either one or both.

Having similar problem - What if battery is charged - glow plug lights stays on for a few seconds - but still won’t start or even crank over… except when i boost it with my truck??
