2610 HST & hydraulic filters.

I don't want to post the same topic twice, but thought some Kioti tech may be observing this section of TBN but not the hydraulic forum section...so here is a link to the original post.

Two hydaulic fluid filters (hydraulic filter & HST filter) on Kioti CK2610 HST?

On the Kioti CK2610 HST, I noticed we have five filters to maintain/replace... 1. the oil filter, 2. the hydraulic filter, 3. the HST filter, 4. the fuel filter, and 5. the air filter. My question is why is there both a hydraulic filter & also a hydrostat filter? Don't both systems circulate...

Comes from the same tank, using the same oil but 2 different systems. I often thought the same, but the only reason I could think of was that the HST oil has to be as free of debris as it can be while going into the transmission.

No different than the vast majority of hydrostatic drive CUTs.

Typically Even larger hydrostatic drives have a dedicated charge pump
Filter as well as other filters on the system. Filter element $30 new hydrostatic $3000 so filter is very inexpensive insurance

$3K is a bargain for anything bigger than a zero turn.

I have the same Tractor. Seems the manual is a bit unsure of service intervals for hydro filters and fluid after 400 hours? I did hydro filters and fluid at 50 hours and again at just shy of 300 hours. In the future I would like to do fluid and filters at the same time? What would you guys' recommend hour wise?

While the tractor only has "one hydraulic fluid reservoir", it has a "2 step filtration" if you will. The HST filter is of a finer micron and rated for higher pressure and therefore more expensive than the regular hydraulic filter. Because of the nature of the tight tolerances on the HST transmissions, etc it is very important to use the correct filters and if you consider using anything other than OEM, make sure you do very good research and make sure you're using filters that are rated correctly for your tractor, or you could see expensive HST repairs.
