I'm sorry you had a poor experience. You're still holding nothing more than an opinion based on that experience. I, in contrast, have had the opposite experience and hold an opposite opinion. Opinions are not facts.

You're basing the bashing of a wide swath of brands based on your experience with one, currently unknown, brand. Was it a Kioti? A Mahindra? Or did you purchase an orphan machine produced by a 3rd party for a company that doesn't exist any longer.

Folks here have had negative experiences with Deere, Kubota, Massey, and every brand in between. If there were a perfect brand, well,. we would all be purchasing it.

It was a Daedong / Kioti. But they have better dealer coverage today than LS / TYM. To each their own.

You never said how much acreage, brush or trees you have and that can make a difference on the size of the tractor.

Be aware of which MT226 specs you are looking at, the 226E is a manual tranny and the other, 226HE is for the HST auto trans. You lose a couple of PTO hp with the HE tranny, it's just the way it is. Basically the only difference in tractors is the PTO hp between the two.
With most new tractors coming with QA loaders (Quick Attach) you have so many more options than years ago. You can get and change out within minutes, forks, 4-1 buckets, brush clamps, etc, You might want to ask about including a "3rd function" when buying the tractor also as it would be needed for the hyd buckets.

I bought a JD 25hp tractor a few years after I built my house many decades ago on 5 acres of raw land, brush and trees. Zero reason for JD other than they had a big sale going on and the payment was lower than the price to rent one.

I did the same research for months when I bought my LS.
A year or two before and after I retired I had dropped a couple dozen good size trees and just didn't want to take the time with the JD and decided to splurge on a 35hp LS. The LS at the time was around $7000 cheaper than JD and Kubota of the same size and the LS had a few extra features on top of that. I had looked at all the brands for issues and every single brand had a model or two that had problems, yes even the green and orange ones.

There are a couple that can lift a few lbs more than mine and lift higher but, for ME, the difference wasn't really a selling point. If I was on raw land and starting over then maybe. Most of the brands have been around for decades in one "buy out" or another and some like the LS even make/made some compact tractors for other brands.

Look down the road in 5 or 10 years and see what you think you will be doing with it and see if it will work for you.
For me the 25hp did fine for my usage for 25+ years, I just wish the QA equipment was around back then, would have been a whole lot easier.
The 35hp LS just does more and a bit faster and might be over kill now but it still fills the needs I do have. I still use the JD, the wife will take the smaller JD most of the time but likes the HST tranny in the LS.

Every Kubota I've ever seen seemed to be engineered and built well. Having said that, I've purchased four new tractors in my life and none of them were orange for various reasons. The worst tractor of the four was a MF 1643 Hydro. The other three (MF 1540, MF 4707, TYM 2515R) are all excellent, well designed, well made tractors. The 1540 is gone, but it really hurt to let that one go and I'm hoping the 4707 and the 2515R stay on the farm indefinitely. They are keepers.

Folks I’m in the research phase of getting a new tractor hopefully next year. Would be a 25 hp +/- tractor with front end loader for general homestead use. Looking at the TYM 2515H vs LS MT226E but also a couple of their smaller models (TYM25 or LS MT225). Any experience with these models or recommendations between TYM and LS brands appreciated.

I bought a 25 HP Branson from a combination Branson/TYM dealer. While the salesman was working up the paperwork, the TYM was parked adjacent to the Branson. I got off the Branson and got on the TYM.....I didn't change my mind on which one to purchase.

Several years later I was doing a lot of loader work around the farm with odd jobs, the reason for the 25 HP Branson purchase. I went with Branson because I had a Branson 6530 with the Cummins licenses engine and it had a reliable history over the years. I realized at my age, clutching and shifting frequently wasn't my cup of tea any longer. I went back to the dealer and wanted to trade for a hydro. Dealer said that they don't take trades but gave me the phone number of a "guy" that does.

Turns out the guy was an LS dealer. In discussing my desires he recommended the LS MT2-25. I bought it and it is hands above the Branson for several reasons, one is room for my 6'5" 235 LB. body to easily and comfortably address and operate the machine. The tilt steering wheel solved one of the problems with the Branson and that was getting the seat comfortable when operating made it hard to get by the steering wheel when getting on and off.

Another nicety with his dealership 250 miles away, is that he took 2 tractors in trade, not 1, (the Branson and a 4 cyl. 2000 Ford in nice shape) on this little guy and delivered the tractor free. I bought it in Jan, '21 and other than a finicky rear light (which he sent me a new one and I returned the finicky one via return mail) have had zero problems with it.

Sorry should have explained more. I currently have a 64' Ford 2000 4 cyl gas tractor w/4 speed trans 36hp or 48hp (depending on what source you read) I believe and 31hp pto. I have 6 acres of pastures and some woods to take care of and could really use a FEL to get that done. Yes reason for 25 hp tractor is to stay away for emissions requirements and special needs. I'm looking at older pre-emissions tractors as well but just worried about getting an un-warrantied money pit. I can work on my old simple gas tractor but know very little about diesel engines and hydraulics so there will be a learning curve to climb so looking for the simplest to take care off and maintain. Kabota has about 5 dealerships within 50 miles of me, Kioti has 2, LS has 3, TYM has 2. John Deere dealerships everywhere but Im not hardcore farming and dont need that price tag. From what Ive "read" LS and TYM seem to be the cheaper and simpler options.

TYM is the only manufacturer over 25Hp that has mechanical injected diesel engines, I'm an IT guy and I did NOT want common rail CPU managed diesel engine. My T474 has a Diesel Particulate Filter. But I have had no problems with it in 6 years and 645h of use. I have only months left on the factory power train warranty. So for a 48.3Hp compact tractor it is one heck of an all rounder. The Legacy 4 digiti numbered models from Branson side of TYM are also mechanically stout units. T4820/5520 models have the same Onan/Cummins/Kukje/TYM derived mechanical injected diesel.

As do the T494/T574 siblings. I believe the 5835/T4058 do as well.

Part of the reason TYM bought Kukje, was because of the engine. The system is unique in the modern tractor world and gives clean emissions without the risk of a computer bollocksing up your work.
