Need help with my 2015 2555. Started about 3 months ago at around 90 hours, now has 112 hrs. When engine speed is anything above an idle, I will make a horrable noise. I dont know how to discribe it other then maybe like sheet metal vibrating its ***** off. I can not pin point were its coming from other then the engine. This noise comes and goes during operation. Nonthing effects it, it does not matter if pto is on or off, or if tractor is moving or is not moving. If cluch is pressed in, or not. If any of the hydraulics are moving or not. Ive tried everything, the noise comes and goes as it see fit. No check engine light, but I plugged my scanner into the tractor, and the only thing i see is the intake air temp is reading -40. I replaced the map sensor and still reads -40 so it might just be my scanner i dont know. unless theres another temp sensor that im not seeing. Any of you guys heard of this? Please HELP! :D

It could be a number of things...try to narrow down where the noise is located. It could be the hydraulic pump to an engine timing chain to a number of other items - without being near it and hearing it while in operation is a guessing game.

Being it only does it at 25%+ throttle, theres already a lot of engine noise so its really hard to tell. and usually when I want it to act up it wont. But its very loud and noticeable when it does. Im thinking the -40 is messing with the engine timing and causing this?? Operating the hydraulics causes no change in the noise, does not make it happen or make it stop. I guess i could remove the belt and run the engine for a couple minutes, that would tell me right away what is or is not making the noise. Will do this in the morning.

In automotive gas engines a temp sensor pegged low like that will cause lots of excess fuel to be dumped into the cylinders - maybe the same here ? Also in automotive the air temp sensor is SOMETIMES incorporated into the MAF but not always, could be separate in the air filter housing or ….

Since you said it sounds like sheet metal vibration, I'm going to suggest a different route. I get a similar sound on mine once in a while. I've pinned it down to 2 different places:
1. The pins in the front loader frame next to the ops station
2. The front loader jack stands.

Both are close enough to sound like engine noise from the seat. And you didn't mention anything about the performance going south, so hence my 2¢.

Since the noise is high enough to be heard over normal engine noise, I'd be looking at a pulley or maybe the alternator. Just your description makes me think a bearing going out.
One other thing is check and make sure all the mounting bolts are tight for the components that use the belt.

Probably dealer should take a look at it as a potential safety issue.

As engine rpm increases, a resonance vibration is being created. Could be anything from loose engine cover to fan belts. I have seen poorly adjusted fan belts make enormous noise...when they start slapping and screeching. Double check everything for tightness. Nothing can be loose. Make sure all fluid levels are good. I hate to think hydraulic fluid is down 50% or more.

In most vehicles that sensor would be the IAT (Intake air temperature)

Without any tests done to isolate the noise, I would check the muffler and any exhaust shielding.
Bearings can make some pretty irritating sounds, have seen water pump and idler pulley bearings do this.

Subscribed Good Luck,

Dealer should be all over this.

ps. In cold weather a hydraulic pump can make some really irritating noises, ESPECIALLY if there are any pump intake side air leaks or restrictions.

I bought it in 2015 so im sure its out of warranty. Plus every time ive called to set up and appointment, they act like they are so busy for weeks out. I did an oil change at 50 hrs, and again at 100 hrs. So today the outside temp is 60, and it does not act up at 60 degrees. I know it sounds like im making this up. I got it to make the noise a couple times, but was not loud enough to hear over the wind on the videos I made. I also removed the loader, and belt, so i can say its not the loader, belt, alternator, or the water pump. Sounds like its coming from the Front of the engine, but thats also the only part I can get my head next to. :confused2: I will say, that the 30 mins of me revving it up and down in the drive way, trying to get you guys a decent video. At one point I heard a very faint humm coming from the egr valve. Humm went away after a few more rev's, and so did my noise! Noise is complete gone " im not holding my breath" , but maybe the egr valve was stuck and straving the engine of fresh air,? but then i would have lots of smoke i would think. Give me a day or two and ill report back. Im sure it will back back, just not on 60 degree days!
