2544 - which blades?

I currently have mulching blades on, but no longer mulch. Just let it go out the shoot. I get a lot grass jamed up when I skip a week of mowing and have to turn the PTO off to "drop" the clippings. Am I better off using the high-lift blades? Anyone using them with just the side shoot (no bagger)?

I Cut this way for years,in my lawn business. The lawn looks graet cut this way!I use a low lift blade and high lift blade,I get a better cut using my low lift,and also they are better for your spindles, less drag!

The mulch blades are high lift blades - and really work well when the mulch chute is removed. But it all depends on the conditions of your grass - and when certain conditions exists such as: freshly fertilized grass, humid or wet conditions exist, and the grass height is growing real fast, it can glog up the mower and chute. Overall the 44" shell is basically the same on the 3000 series, and the symptoms seem identical. The 44" does have a narrow chute opening compared to a 50" or 54" deck, and that does play a part.
Overall alot of mowers can be effected by the conditions listed above, even commerical mowers. As things dry out or are less moist the cut quality is improved and easier. The only thing I can suggest is mow it a little more frequently until the conditions change for better mowing -
