Can anyone verify if the 3 point controls come after the power beyond loop?

The reason I ask, I have built a simple log splitter which I am powering from the power beyond circuit. It consists of a prince log splitter valve, cylinder and return line filter. It operates correctly and I have checked/verified 3 times that I have the routing of the hoses correct, but I have blow the seal on the return filter twice with the splitter not in operation.

The only thing I can recall doing is raising the 3 point arms to move from one spot to another (log splitter is towed from a draw bar on the 3 point hitch).

If I am correct in thinking the 3 point is after the power beyond loop, this would cause the entire loop to see system pressure?

Yes, I believe the 3PH is after the PB loop, and it does indeed have full system pressure in it. Not sure why you are blowing a seal though...I will have to think about this one:confused:

thanks,

if the PB is indeed before the 3PH then that would explain the seal failure.
When actuated, the 3PH is causing the return side of the PB to see full system pressure, the return filter is only rated for 150 psig.

I guess I will need to remember not to move the 3PH.

thanks to all, I was able to find a print for the 2520 hyd. circuit and indeed the return line for the power beyond is not a true return line back to tank. This feeds the 3PH and will see full system pressure when the hitch is raised.

I might try and find a hydraulic pressure filter to use instead of the return line filter.
