Well , Today i got it dirty....:D
I go out back and played in the dirt. went down to the bottom. and dug a ditch with the hoe.
as deep as i could go. it was pretty deep. if you was in it. you could not get out...:) I just wanted to get the feel of the hoe. I was very impressed. it was stronger than i figured. I was digging in the hard Georgia red clay. Johnny D just dug right on in.....;) as long as you dont try to get to big of a bite. you can dig about anything. heck i was pulling up rocks red brick. and about 5 feet down. i pulled up a whole cement block. for a min. I thought i was fishing....LOL....:D there is a big field beside the garage. where i hope to do my add on pretty soon. who ever said a fel wont dig , was asleep. as i said its hard packed clay. and you lock johnny D in 4WD and lock the diffs in low range. with the JD tooth bar. and i was peeling it up....:) my buddy has a 863 bobcat we been digging with. i wont say it digs like no BobCat.
but i can almost get as big of a bit as he can. what i was most proud of. his bucket is 60 inch and mine is 61. if he has a full load going down hill. even with his ground weight. the back tires bounce off the ground. I can get just as big a scoop. and as long as the backhoe is on. i feel pretty solid going down hill with a full load.:) the ditch i dug was over 6 foot deep about 8 or 9 feet long. after i was done. i filled it in . it didnt take but a second. to take the fel and fill it up. and smoth it out. i had an old block wall we took down a while back. there was some cemet block 3 rows high about 8 or 9 still mortered togather like one chuck of concreat . i got it in the bucket and picked it up no problem dont know what it weighed. but it did not feel heavy. so far i feel i made the right choice in size for my needs. it has a ton of power. i have been impressed so far with what it can do. I did wash it tonight. but not as extensive as i did the first day. i needed it spit shine for pictures yesterday.....:D the first day is a one time event. backhoe bucket is now seasoned with scratched as is the fel bucket. but i am pleased. Now Johnny D as i have named him. is ready to go to work....:) I think i am going to enjoy it. Now i just got to come up with an idea for some street pads for the hoe , For me and Duc....;)

Sounds like you had a great day! I had a 4115 set up with loader and hoe which was (is) similar to what you have, they are a great tractor. Enjoy! :)

Sounds like a good day - had one last weekend 60 leyland cypress had to be planted before the Nor'easter of last weekend. problem was the first 150 ft was loaded with root 4-6 inches or more thick. So I just dug a trench for that length and got the roots the heck outta there. The rest was dig a whole and plant, topsoil fabric and mulch. All done in 1 day with 3 guys. Couldnt happen without the 2520 & 46BH. The trees help up perfect within 50-60 MPH winds without a scratch

As for the pads you will have a long list of customers as soon as you are ready - make some money on your design! allow me to be the first customer !!

Duc , JD called my man back today. and said none of the other feet will fit our hoe.:( and there all cast. so mods would not be easy. So today i ordered the 448 Street pads. and i am just going to make some big nasty feet my self.....:)

here is the funny thing how JD gets you. i ordered the street pad kit for the 448 to use as my pattern. it is a little over 100 dollars. there are 4 rubber pads. if you by the pads one at a time. there 58 dollars a peace....
over 200$ for 4 pads. is the crazy or what. if you damaged one. it is still cheeper to just buy a new kit with 4 pads...:)
