Thought i would share this weekends little project with you all.
Well i figured the new 2520 needed some bucket hooks. So i called AW-direct , and had them send me 2 grade 70 3/8 hooks. there rated at 6,600 pounds. no danger in me ever hurting them with a 200CX loader. or any loader for that matter. Well i new the loader bucket was not up to heavy tasks. so as you will see from the pictures. i put two 1/4 inch gussits under the full length from front to back under the loader cuff. as that where i figured the bucket was the strongest. so thats where i decided to put the hooks. I welded a 1/4 inch plate 4X6 on top of the bucket. then as you see i wraped another band over the lip of the bucket. so if your chains were pulling down you would not bend the lip. then i welded the hooks on. and of course repainted the bucket. inside the bucket i just grinded it smooth and painted. no need to spend a whole lot of time on it. as the first scoop of dirt and it wont matter much. The top side is a different story. i spent several hours blocking and sanding the top. it is slicker now than it was new. I know its going to get scratched sooner or later. but it being a new tractor. i could not do it hafe way. it had to look good. there is no danger in me ever bending the top edge of this bucket with a 200CX . I cant say enough about the factory JD paint. it is 9 dollars a can. but it is the finest spray paint i ever used . it go's on smooth and matches perfect.
