2520 4wd in Reverse?

I recently purchased a 2011 2520 and 4wd doesn't seem to work in reverse. My rear tires spin and there seems to be no help from the front tires. The fronts do spin when I get in tough spots going forward. Is this normal or am I missing something?

It's a mechanical connection, so it works in forward or reverse. There where a few guys who had trouble with theirs popping out of 4WD, but no reverse problems.

You may not have engaged 4wd. That lever can be kind of finicky.
