231s steering issues

Hello,
Seeking some advice about a 2002 231s.
No loader, shed kept, runs great and very good overall condition. Unknown hours as meter no longer functions (stopped at about 350).

The problem is the power steering is clearly not working. In addition, the steering will start to death wobble at times. Despite the fact tie rods and drag links seem tight.
Tractor is kept at our hunting property, owned by an LLC and I don't really know when this started. One of those things that seemed to have "just happened" and nobody knows anything about it. FWIW only 3 operators, all with experience and we all own other machines.
Taking to the shop will require some effort. Would like to check what I can before I load it up.
Seeking troubleshooting suggestions in hopes of finding the problem. It appears to function differently from a conventional PS system.
Factory rims with conventional ribbed AG steering axle tires.

After reading more on the subject-
I'm going to take turd furguson to the tractor mart. It's the closest MF dealer and they have been good to deal with in the past. I'll let them sort it out & save my knuckles. This tractor fights me tooth and nail every time I approach it with any kind of tool anyway.

I have a 2001 231s with close to 700 hours. Haven't had any steering issues yet, but it is a hard tractor to work on, for me anyway. I'm curious to what you find out.
