I got my 2310 today in the pouring rain, so I didn't get to play at all. Any rookie mistakes I should avoid. I went through the tractor with the dealer and am currently reading over the Owners manual.

I will try to get some pics soon.

Thanks for all the help in the Massey forum!

Congratulations on your new rig. Please post some pics of it in action. As far as rookie mistakes, you are avoiding some of them by reading the owner's manual. It discusses maintenance, loader and backhoe usage and other important items.

One mistake you do not want to learn the hard way is driving with a loaded bucket on a slope. It is very easy to tip. If you are in motion with a load in the bucket...BE CAREFUL /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. Do not turn up hill quickly, keep the bucket low and if you start to tip, push the bucket down quickly.

Enjoy, the 2310 is a great machine,

Now why'd that stop you; it should make for softer digging!

Seriously though, congratulations on your new machine. As for mistakes to watch for, check out the search function on the forum (and don't limit yourself to Massey or the 2310). I think you'll find LOTS of great advice here!

Be safe, have fun, and post pictures!

Congratulation on the tractor you can't go wrong with the 2310, what I like the most about it, is the smooth running engine, I tried both BX23 and GC2310, MF was the winner for me, again congratulation on the purchase enjoy your seat time...cag

Mr Brown always entertaining reading your post and reply, now to answer your question I tried both SUB CUT and MF in my view is simply the better tractor,I'm not trying to start a war here, you have your reason to have the BX23 but if you do have the opportunity to try the 2310 you will probably understand what I mean...cag

Do you know if MF has a model comparable to the Kubota BX1500.
I think I'll try out a BX1500 also.

Congratulations!!! With your new, lighter pocketbook, you will notice that the TLB's tendency to sink into soft ground is greatly reduced! Just kidding... You will find many new and exciting things to do with your new tractor! I jjust finished installing an irrigation system yesterday and my wife thinks I'm the greatest! As to your question... BE CAREFUL WHEN LIFTING LOADED BUCKET HIGH -- especially when it is full of stumps or (heaven forbid) rocks. The bucket does not adjust its angle as you lift and it is easy to dump large items backwards over the top of the bucket. Watch that bucket angle! I have two little dents in my lovely tractor's hood to testify! Your machine will do LOTS of work for you! Leearn its sounds and feel when working normally and avoid overloading it! Just like any fine tool, it will do the job with minimal effort when used properly! I just got in from mowing today. I love my tractor and my wife is starting to think it's sexy... sigh... Also, check the bolts in the sides of the backhoe attachment plates -- mine are installed wrong. Will have the dealer correct at first service. Now, GO DIG SOME HOLES!!!!
