2240 with clutch issues

got a 2240 and sparks and metal shavings just started blowing out the inspection covers on the left ahead of your feet

I've had her split in the rear before to do the independtent pto clutch packs.

clutch is now out.. i'm kinda thinking seized TO bearing?

any other ideas. just rolled it into shop to start taking stuff off in prep for a split..

Since you're going to have everything apart... gonna replace the 1st stage PTO clutch, too?

Were these JD parts or aftermarket? If JD parts, how were the prices?

aftermarket for sure.

jd wanted over 700$ for the pressure palte ALONE. 130$ for the throw out bearing... trans media disc was over 500$

i got everything from ssb, shipped to me for 800$ or so. just got the package as a matter of fact...

Whoa... there's darn near a third of the cost of the entire tractor right there! Pretty big hit for clutch parts; throw in your labor (or another shop) and that's darn near HALF the cost of buyin' the tractor in the first place! Crazy.

OK, I'll bite - what's SSB tractor? Another place I can shop when I sign up for Social Security..??

just a place i found online.. don't know what ssb stands for.. but my clutch parts.. well.. 1 of the 2 boxes anyway showed up this afternoon. trans disc and pilot bearing.
