2240 Hydraulics Questions

The valve on the pounder is indeed casted with 550. This is a red valve, their oldest one and they no longer sell parts for it. They did suggest that the manufacturer of the valve may still make or have parts for it, but i didnt pursue that avenue. Im just going to run it with the valve thats on it and close the valve for the remote hydraulics in between posts.

From the casting number it's an open center valve. Since you know the brand of the valve, see if a closed center plug is made for the valve. I doubt it, since they have a different casting number for a closed center valve.

*FIXED*

I got the problem figured out. It was operator error. When i plugged the pounder in to the hydraulic port on the tractor and pulled the lever on the tractor to actuate the hydraulic port i got fluid into and back out of the pounder. This led me to believe that i had the lever on the tractor in the correct direction. Today, on a whim, i pushed the lever on the tractor in the other direction. Bingo! The pounder lifted and i was golden! Thanks for all the help guys!
