2210 main driveshaft

My friend has a 2210 that needs a new driveshaft from the engine to the hydro pump. Has anyone tackled this project? How hard was it?

I have not done that repair, but there are a few threads on fan replacement that mention it...

Just curious, why does he need a new one?
