2210 Front Cover Crack

I don't think this takes much force normally, but I found the engine cover on the front cracked under the front seal. Seeing that it is under the front seal, I don't think it would leak, but I just don't want it to go further and start leaking.

Looks like it could possibly be welded by a skilled aluminum welder, or maybe braised or even jbweld.

Any thoughts?

I would have it welded and machined down to make a flat surface.........:2cents:

For what it is worth the part number for that cover is the same on the 1700,2000, and 2210. Engiines 2tr17, 2tr20, and 2t90. Could be others. Part number 724160-01612. I would expect there might be quite a few of the parts engines on those models.
