2210/4010 FEL \"Float\"

I looked at the NH TC18, B7500/BX22, JD 2210/4010. The NH and Kubota's have a Float position with the joy stick. When I asked the JD dealer about, he said yup, it has it. So I asked which way do you push the stick, and he stated it will automatically float. So, I am thinking this would be a nice feature, and I assume the JD does it, but how?

I don't understand about the "automatically" part, but I guess you're talking about the front end loaders. If so, you push the joystick forward just as you do to lower the bucket. At a certain point you will feel a "stop"; push harder to move the joystick beyond that detent and it's in float.

Now of course if you're talking about the 3-point hitch instead, just push the lever all the way forward and the 3-point will be in "float". Actually, it's in "float" anytime it's not raised all the way; just won't float as low if the lever's not all the way forward, but it will still float up.

Bird is correct about the joystick on the 2210. When I first got mine, to push the stick into the float position, it was pretty stiff. After a few times working it though, works fine now.

I have a 4200 and find that I really have to ram the SCV lever forward to get the bucket into the float position. There's nothing wrong with it. That's just the way it works. If I try to just push the lever forward I'll lift the front end of my machine off the ground.

Just get the loader near the ground and then really jam/push/ shove/throw the lever forward very hard and fast. You won't hurt it. Again, that's just what it takes to get to the 'float' position.
