I have a 2040 with a 145 loader on it. When I fill it with Hyd. Oil am I supposed to have the loader up, down, or in the middle? It seems like when I fill it with the loader down and bring it to the up position I run a bit low on oil but that may not be true only the dipstick shows that it is low. I have only had it about a month and am new to the loader thing...

You should check the fluid level with the loader down. If you fill the system with cylinders extended it could push oil out when everything is retracted causing a spill.

On most tractors, you check the fluid with the FEL and the 3PH in the fully lowered position.
