Getting ready to pull the trigger on a new 2025 with FEL and 62 in MMM. I was thinking about ballast for the rear. I have always had a drag behing mower and a box blade too. Never considered needing ballast. I guess JD makes the suitcase weights. I still have my boxblade if needed but not sure about all the new attaching systems JD now has.

Is there also some sort of ballast box? Will be mostly mowing but occasionally will need the loader.
Any other hidden things not included in the base machine?

I just took delivery of my 2025R last week and love it! As far as ballast goes. Yes JD makes a ballast box that you can fill with whatever you can get your hands on, sand, rocks ,concrete, or scrap??? But if you have a box blade like I do. Try that first and save a few $$$. I also have some suitcase weights from JD and they will stack on the inside of my box if I need more weight. I also thought about loading the rear tires with liquid but that cost $$$ too and I don't want to mow the yard with all that extra weight.

Yours looks just like the one I am thinking about. Salesman having trouble locating a 2025R so tried to show me a 1025R today. Looked a lot smaller. aug 1st they are to have one in. I'll wait.
