Recent pics, 4wd option does work! It stays engaged for months at a time.

Here In Ga, we don't get the snow that you do! However we are privy to ice..... Which I must confess the 24 Ranger handled well. The wife actually used the button to select which (mode/terrain) when driving. It was surprising how well it handled and seemed to be pretty balanced in weight distribution. Her previous truck was a 03 ford and was a bit light in the tail end when navigating inclement weather. I must confess those that live in these parts are not - skilled in driving in snow and ice; not to mention the road dept is substandard compared to your area. I am shocked that you manage to not get stuck in the deep snow as the ground clearance seems a bit low for the sheer amount of powder you get.

Snow and ice is two different games. We just use 4WD for most of the winter along with snow tires and rarely see icy conditions. You will not see ice in this pic and snow is more tacky (less slippery)

Has anyone seen this screen when you open a door to start the Ranger. I think my battery is going bad because only the drivers side door opens and locks by touch. The same that has happened before. The battery is only lasting a little over 2 years, Im on the second battery. 2019 70K miles. Battery shows 11.69V. It starting fine each time though. By the way, the ignition was off. This screen has popped up about 6 times now. The blue line starts to fill out the gray line but I have not let it fill out completely before starting the truck.

Haven't seen that particular screen...but I think ALL the modern vehicles with all the electronics, the big screens in the dash and other gizmos, have a lot of battery drain going on when the vehicle is shut off, just to maintain memory in all the electronics. I learned very quickly that if my 2016 pickup isn't driven daily the battery will run down. I installed a pigtail from the battery to the front grill and every time I park it I plug it in to a battery maintainer. That solved the low battery problems.

Yes, and since my truck is a 19, was thinking the battery was showing its age. The warning went away and I'm still using it. Many guys on the ranger forum talked about seeing it.

I'd get one of these for about $30. Cheap, foolproof real battery amperage tester.

Put in a new battery in the Ranger and all the problems disappeared. All the doors touch lock and unlock work and the battery saver screen does not come on. The new battery is only guaranteed for two years and that is about how long they last. I never had any problems starting the Ranger, but It was down to 11.69v. These symptoms do give you plenty of warning when the battery reaches the end of its short lifespan.

The brakes were getting a little spongy and a change out of brake fluid fixed that. Got an oil change while it was in the shop so it is good to go for another 6 months.

I wonder if the heat you live in damages a battery? I have close to the same mileage.
