2019 F350 crew cab lariat question

Highly unlikely. The weight of options will change the requirements. The front GAWR may be the same, but the spring rates will differ.

My Son is a parts guy at a dealership. I asked about this. He investigated. Front spring part numbers were the same for Ford based on GVWR. No mention of engine.

No difference in the Springs on a Diesel vs gas.

not complaining on anyone's right to buy anything they want...but seriously 80 grand for a truck.

Not in my lifetime. I spent 36 grand for a new tundra....that was enough. My 2004 F350 was purchased used in 2010 with less than 50k miles for $16,000 cash It had a sticker in the glove box for 58 grand when new. Who wants to take that kind of loss. I now have 110,000 miles on it with only 1 new injector. no other issues.

I do like looking at new trucks, but the prices knock me out. 5 years ago i purchased a rental house for $130,000 and sold it this year for 225,000. In the same 5 years a new truck would more than halved it value. I wonder how many years they finance trucks for these days.

I bet ya a Porsche is cheaper priced than a truck nowdays :cool2:

Crazy prices on trucks & cars these days. The reason we bought a 2018 taurus AWD limited lease return with 11,000 miles on the OD verses new.Saved $20,000 grand off sticker price. The original sticker price on this one was $43,285 purchased for $22,300 plus tax.Ford dealer stated they can"t give cars away with everyone wanting Trucks & SUV,s

It sure sounded like you assumed it was the same. If the gas engine weighs less and it has the same spring, then yes it will have a higher stance. Don't you think Ford would compensate for the weight difference? That makes the spring and ride height very relevant. Your 1" statement is essentially meaningless.

Well apparently Ford does not compensate for the weight..The diesel front end squats 1" lower. Heavier spring or not.

Almost all my family and friends drive Super Duty trucks. Mine is the only one old enough to have front leaf springs. Theirs are all coils. First thing I notice when I ride in theirs is the rough ride. There trucks also don't drive down the road as well. More input required.

Friend of mine has a 4yr old Chevy 2500. It totally rides like crap compared to my old truck.

Really? My dad has a front leaf spring Ford and it steers and rides terrible. My coil spring Chevy steers and rides a lot better. The turning radius of my truck is at least 10 feet tighter. The front leafs ride so good that today they’re pretty much limited to medium duty trucks. I have a leaf spring medium duty truck and it turns better than dads Ford .

My 08 Duramax drives down the road with Cadilac Ride Quality. Never, ever fight to keep it going straight either. Not very nice on rough roads though.

That is a nice looking Taurus. I really like cars although I don't drive one, since I need a vehicle that can go off road and tow. Last year we replaced my wife's 2007 Ford Fusion. I was hoping we could get another sedan, but she wanted a crossover SUV. Could have gotten a lot more vehicle for the $ with a car, but oh well.

I have always had a sedan for a daily driver and grocery getter, much more cost effective. I have never understood getting groceries in a pickup unless you are going that direction with something you need a truck for. Going forward there will be fewer manufacturers offering them. Just going to a crossover (often just a tall sedan) adds $$$$.

The vast majority people that own a pickup use them for a daily driver and nothing else.

Maybe his needs attention? All my friends with newer coil and independent suspension comment on how good my old truck rides. That's with worn out sway bar links that rattle on every bump.

Glad ur truck steers good. The rough ride you mentioned is whst I'm talking about.

I think the coil spring trucks have the lower control arms going forward and downward. So when the tire needs to lift it has to push forward. Result, rough ride.

When my leaf spring truck hits a bump the tire moves rearward. Nice, soft.
